The main tournaments of the 14th International RSSU 2018 Moscow Open Cup have passed their equator. The international master from Moscow Evgeni Dragomarezkij is keeping a 100% result after five rounds in the veterans’ competitions. Gennady Tunik (Saratov), Alexandr Provotorov (Kaluga region) and Evgenij Kalegin (Ufa) are half a point behind the leader.
Elena Fatalibekova from Moscow is leading in the women’s veteran tournament, she scored 4,5 points. Elena Sazonova (Tyumen), Ramziya Samusenko (Tatarstan) and Larisa Khropova (Moscow) are half a step behind her.
There are no evident leaders in the Cup of Russia events so far. Four players show the best results in the men’s event. They are Tamir Nabaty (Israel), Arystanbek Urazayev (Uzbekistan), Boris Savchenko (Moscow) and Nikolai Shukh (Saratov region).
Five chess players top the women’s competition: Marina Nechaeva and Margarita Lysenko (both from Moscow region), Aydan Hojjatova (Azerbaijan), Susanna Gaboyan (Armenia) and Dinara Dordzhieva (Moscow). Each of them scored 4,5 points. Eight chess players with half a point less follow the leading group.
Round six of the competitions will be played on Thursday, February 1.
