Almost 200 chess players took part in the first competions of the festival program – the RSSU Boys’ and Girls’ Cups in rapid chess, held within the frames of the additional program of the RSSU Cup, 2018 Moscow Open on Thursday, January 25.
According to the results of 11 rounds 14-year-old Sugar Ganerden from Mongolia celebrated victory in the tournament. He let his opponents have only half a point, showing theresult of 10,5 of 11 points. Kirill Shubin (St. Petersburg) finished second with a point and a half less. Artem Odegov (Ekaterinburg) with 9 points became a bronze medal winner. He lost according to the tie-breaks.
Evgeny Kambur and Nikita Pavlov showed the best result among Muscovites, they scored 8 points and shared 9-15 places. Kamalia Bulatova from Kazan scored the same number of points and showed the best result in the girls’ competition. Anastasia Dubnikova (Ekaterinburg) and Lea Garifullina (Moscow region) scored hald a point less, they occupied the second and the third places correspondingly in the girls’ tournament.
It should be added that February 5 the tournament in rapid chess will be held for everybody within the frames of the additional program of the RSSU Cup, Moscow Open.
